Our Story

As a busy mom who raised four young children I was always on the go. My son Shawn was two years old and had a favorite Luvee named Cow that never left his side. Wherever we went, Cow went too.

One day after a particularly hectic shopping trip, Shawn's beloved Cow never made it back home. After an exhaustive search we went home emptyhanded. Shawn was devastated. Many sleepless nights, tantrums, and tears later and we decided to track down the toy company. To our devastation the toy company was no longer producing Cow. We decided to find Shawn, a new Luvee. We tried buying him many types of new toy cows to which he always replied, “Not my Cow.”

We were brokenhearted and defeated when our luck finally turned around. Weeks later, we received a call from the owner of the toy company. While cleaning out a company closet, he happened upon one of the last Cow ever produced! He remembered our story from weeks earlier because his own son had recently lost his Luvee too. He understood firsthand how devastating it was for a little boy to lose his favorite toy. Without delay, the owner sent Cow home on a first-class trip courtesy of the U.S. Postal Service.

The day Cow arrived home again was one I will never forget. The package arrived and we told Shawn it was for him. His tiny fingers peeled back the box carefully. The familiar soft white and black fur peeked through the wrapping and all at once Shawn recognized his old friend. He began to frantically tear through the packaging. Shawn’s eyes twinkled as he finally set his sights on his beloved Cow. He ran through the house smiling and shouting “My Cow is home; my Cow is home!”

After that day, Cow never went on another shopping adventure. We were always in fear of losing Cow again. Fast forward, 25 years, and I am now a Grammie to three beautiful grandchildren. Experiencing the loss of Cow so long ago inspired us to create Luvee Leash so no Luvee’s would ever be left behind again!
